Celebration at work is a critical component to establishing a healthy company culture. Too often companies fail to celebrate enough. One reason is because leaders believe that to celebrate it must be big, elaborate, and well-planned out. Instead, leaders should focus on making them fun, simple, and memorable.
Leaders who are serious about building a strong culture need to not only consider annual celebrations but also quarterly, monthly, weekly, and even daily celebrations. Throwing one big party at the end of the year is never sufficient.
Here are seven ways you can celebrate daily with your team:
#1 Publicly acknowledge team members in a meeting for doing a great job.
#2 Offer a sincere compliment to someone who completed a task on time.
#3 Write a thank-you note, card, or email of appreciation to someone who showed good customer service.
#4 Catch someone doing something right and point it out to peers who are nearby.
#5 High-five or fist bump someone you see doing excellent work.
#7 Send a text message of gratitude to someone who helped a co-worker during the day.
Developing a habit of celebrating daily will not only be meaningful to your people, but it will also elevate your company’s culture.
